Holidays!

Clearly, I am no good at this blogging thing.  I just can't seem to find the time!  I have been working like crazy since Thanksgiving, doing some Christmas items, but also lots of Birthday and Specialty Items.  Got to make those Birthdays and other events around Christmas super special.   Here are some of the cute designs:

Back on Track with Ric Rac

I have totally neglected my blog lately - very sad :(.  Anyway, I am trying to get back on track and my new obsession is Ric Rac!  Krista Obitts sent me a picture of a gown she wanted me to copy with ric rac around the trim and I fell in love!  I came up with a ric rac set which is a great newborn set.  As I work on my t-shirts for Fall, when you order, you will have the option to add ric rac to the collar.  I am visiting Mom right now and planning a trip to Mary Jo's and Fancy Gap fabric outlet to pick up some Fall Fabrics and more ric rac.

Make sure to come by The Purple Goose in the next few weeks - most shoes and clothing are 50% off!  Nick will be starting on our Back to School window soon!  Look out for some of my t-shirts in the window!

I have been working like crazy the last few weeks!  Spring is definitely in the air.  Just wish it would stay that way!  I heard we are supposed to get snow on Saturday.  Hopefully Spring will be here to stay soon!  A lot of these pictures are on my website, but I wanted to share them again.  I will continue to add items as I get all the work finished!  Hope you are all well.  xoxo

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all my fabulous friends and customers!  2010 was a huge success for me and I am excited to see what 2011 will bring!  I hope 2011 only brings wonderful things for you and your loved ones!

As I sat down to make my Resolutions and Goals for 2011, I immediately started to make the same ones I do every year!  Lose weight, exercise more, eat better, and so on and so on.  The more I thought about it, the more I realized that although I need to lose weight and exercise more, the main thing is I need to take better care of myself.  The last year with my focus on growing my business and eventually on the store, I let a lot of things slip through the cracks.  My house was constantly a mess (and the basement/office is still) and I hated walking into it.  So, for Christmas, John and I gave each other home improvement projects!  The first was new carpet (love Empire Today and yes they really do install next day!), second, new living room furniture and the final project will be house painting.  It made me feel so much better to walk in my house!

In the spirit of home improvement, I realized that so many of you inspired me with things you brought in over the holidays for me to monogram, that I have been on a tear with "monogram projects" around my house!

As my Mom and I were shopping for accent pieces, I told her I wanted to redo my bedroom.  I figure while we are re-doing all these other things, might as well do it all.  She looked at my like I was crazy and told me what a waste of money.  My bed linens are still in really good shape.  So as I was thinking, I remembered that yes, I can monogram and what better way to dress up my bedroom.  I went a little overboard, but it updated my room without a huge expense.  Even though hugely popular, I am not a fan of the "couples monogram".  No reason at all, I just like putting my monogram on everything ;)!  But for the bedroom, I wanted a more masculine monogram and frankly, the combination of our two initials looked best.

Here is an example of some accent pillows I monogrammed for a bedroom over the holidays:

It doesn't take a lot to update a room.  You don't even have to buy new pieces!  Just bring me items you already have and we can figure out a great way to dress them up.

The "unadvertised" special found only on my blog for January is get 1 item monogrammed, get a second monogrammed for half price.  This special applies only to monograms.

Each week in January, I will show you how I updated another room with monogramming.  Next week will feature a child's bedroom.  Happy New Year and May God Bless us All in 2011!
